- Tooth sensitivity is the most common side effect and is temporary
- Use sensitivity toothpaste (apply directly to sensitive teeth if needed)
- Avoid very hot or cold foods and drinks for 24-48 hours
Stain Prevention (48-Hour Window)
- Your teeth are more porous and susceptible to staining right now
- Avoid: coffee, tea, red wine, cola, berries, tomato sauce, soy sauce
- Avoid: tobacco in any form
- Eat "white" foods: chicken, rice, pasta, white fish, bananas
Maintaining Results
- Continue avoiding staining foods/drinks for 48 hours
- Sensitivity should resolve within 1-3 days
- Brush gently with a soft brush
- Results can last 6-12 months with good habits
When to call your provider or 911
- •Severe pain that doesn't respond to sensitivity toothpaste
- •Gum burns, blistering, or white patches on gums
- •Sensitivity that worsens after 3 days
