- Avoid coffee, tea, red wine, berries, and dark sauces for 48 hours
- The bonding material is most porous and stain-prone right after placement
- No smoking or tobacco for at least 48 hours
Care
- You can eat immediately (no numbness in most cases)
- Avoid biting directly into hard foods with bonded teeth
- If bite feels uneven, call for a quick adjustment
Day 1-2
Ongoing Care
- Brush and floss normally
- Use a non-abrasive toothpaste
- Avoid nail-biting, pen-chewing, or opening things with your teeth
- Bonding typically lasts 3-10 years with proper care
When to call your provider or 911
- •Bonded material chips or falls off
- •Sharp edge develops on the bonding
- •Persistent sensitivity in the bonded tooth
