Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) recovery, day by day
Day 0 (Transfer Day)
Procedure Day
- Take it easy today. No bed rest required, but avoid strenuous activity.
- Begin progesterone support as prescribed (if not already started)
- Avoid heavy lifting and vigorous exercise
- Take all medications exactly as prescribed
Day 1-10 (Two-Week Wait)
Two-Week Wait
- Continue all medications. Do NOT stop progesterone unless told to.
- Normal daily activities are fine. No need for bed rest.
- Avoid: hot tubs, saunas, heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, alcohol
- It is normal to have no symptoms. Lack of symptoms does not mean failure.
Day 11-14 (Beta Test & Beyond)
Pregnancy Test
- Blood pregnancy test (beta-hCG) around day 10-14 after transfer
- Do NOT take home pregnancy tests early. They can give false results.
- Continue progesterone and all medications until your clinic tells you to stop
When to call your provider or 911
- •Heavy vaginal bleeding (more than a period)
- •Difficulty breathing or chest pain
- •Fever above 101°F
- •Severe nausea/vomiting preventing fluid intake
- •Severe cramping not relieved by rest
- •Dizziness or fainting
When in doubt, call your clinic. For a medical emergency, call 911.

Embryo implanting (no way to feel this). Stay positive.

Beta blood test
